Christmas 2008

Christmas was rainy and cold this year (which Michael and I both LOVED). We had our annual tamale and fideo soup-a-thon with the Romney side of the family a few days before Christmas. My brother Grant and his wife Karri and the kids came over to our place with David and stuffed ourselves silly. For anyone not from the southwest, tamales are HUGE out here for Christmas. They're on sale everywhere, and the Romney's have been doing it for at least as long as Rachael's been alive. Unfortunately, the tamales were a fiasco. We had pre-ordered them and when we went to pick them up they were the wrong kind and half frozen. Rachael went a little "pregnancy postal" (ask Mike for details, apparently it was very entertaining) and we got a slight discount and they were supposed to fix the order. When we actually got them home they were still all the wrong kind. Seriously folks, don't mess with the pregnant lady! The store's gonna' get quite the letter. Mom and Dad were totally missed (especially because they've got the tamale thing down), but we got to talk to them. They fed tamales to the Spanish branch missionaries! We also missed my sister Sandra and her family in UT, but got to talk to them as well!

My brother David celebrated with the Romney's for Christmas Eve but came over for Christmas Day breakfast. He was a big fan of the foster kid's "Woody" Toy Story toy.

Wish we could post pics of the foster kids- they we're SO cute with their new Christmas PJ's.

Merry Christmas to all! We hope everyone's was safe and happy, and missed seeing so many of you. Christmas cards were skipped in lieu of impending baby announcements, so expect one sometime in the new year. We loved hearing from those of you that sent them!
