Our Trip Day 4: Philly!

We took a mini road trip to Philadelphia (only a 2 1/2 hour drive) to meet up with Michael's older sister, Janice. She lives in New York with her husband and we don't get to see her much, so it was really good to catch up! Drove through Delaware to get there (seriously, what's in Delaware?), and picked her up from her shuttle. We saw the Liberty Bell...

...and Independance Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed.

They're both free to see. You can also get a glimpse of the Amazing Miracle Baby Carrier of Great Joy,as previously mentioned.

We spent a lot of time just driving through the city (Thank you GPS!!) and exploring. We tracked down the famous LOVE statue

which was a NIGHTMARE to find parking to! It's in this underground pit of a parking garage, where I wasn't exactly sure we were going to make it out of alive.

One of the highlights of the entire trip was the Reading Market, above the Amtrak station. Janice found it and we're so glad, 'cause it was a blast! It's been there since the 20's, and it's a plethora of food. Seriously, a swap meet of food. Aisles and aisles. Italian bakery, Amish cheeses, Philly cheesesteaks, Juice Bars, you name it! We had the BEST cannolis and cheesesteaks to wrap up the day. Aedan had crumbs in his hair for days:

Here's the boys waiting for the rain to die down:
